LeVere Promoted to AVP, Signals

Jim LeVere has been promoted to assistant vice president, Signals, effective immediately, it was announced today, Nov. 19, by Dave Freeman, vice president, Engineering. LeVere, who previously served as general director, Line Maintenance, at Minneapolis succeeds John Williams, whose appointment as general manager of BNSF’s Kansas Division was announced last week.

LeVere joined the railroad in 1979 as an assistant signalman at Gillette, Wyo., and became an electronics technician later that year. After completing the Corporate Management Trainee program in 1984, he was named senior planning engineer and later served as signal supervisor; manager, Signals; and director, Signals, Northern Lines, before being named general director, Line Maintenance, in 2004.

"Jim’s wide experience with the people of BNSF's Signals group and with our Signals infrastructure make him well suited to lead the Signals team to continue the success it has enjoyed under John's leadership," says Freeman.
